Meena joined us early in 2019 and has become our main woman lead. Meena is gentle in her ways and most suited for nursery and garden work. She is one of our local women tree planting ambassadors, carrying saplings made at the Nursery on Open Shell Farm back to the village. She shares these medicinal and fruit plants with the women of the village for their backyard gardens. 

Watch for her genuine and playful smile while she is in the kitchen. She is an excellent cook of local dishes which are always a treat for visitors to the Farm. 

Meena is a young widow and the daughter of a local village carpenter. It surprised us to find out that widows are still not allowed to remarry even in these modern times.
